Plus Sized Fashion Models Rock the Runway

You may recall the reality television show “Project Catwalk,” which was on the air starting in 2006.  Every week, a group of fashion designers competed against one another.  Each episode, the judges would eliminate a designer until a winner was crowned. “Project Catwalk” was based on the American series “Project Runway,” which is still going strong after sixteen seasons.  And, this year, for the very first time, “Project Runway” is incorporating plus sized models.

During prior seasons, designer mentor, Tim Gunn, voiced his desire to see plus sized women on the show.  He did not like how the fashion industry turned its back on full-figured women.  He said, “There is no reason larger women can’t look just as fabulous as all other women. The key is the harmonious balance of silhouette, proportion and fit, regardless of size or shape.”

The season is nearly over and the show will soon crown a new champion.  As usual, the designers sent stunning, one-of-a-kind fashions down the runway that wowed the judges.  The plus sized models, however, changed things.  At first, a few designers were nervous, but once they become comfortable, they saw the potential in the plus sized models’ gorgeous curves.  As a result, the plus sized models rocked the runway and wore the most dazzling designs of the season.

Over the last three decades, there have been tremendous changes in the roles of women. Similarly with the beginning of the 21st century, the fashion trends have exploded exponentially. But, the colorism, size exclusion, and body type preference is only restricted to straight size fashion. With people focusing so much on size zero body type, the plus size body type gets overlooked. The world turned away from the “plus size” and opened its arms only to the phenomenon of thin. Body diversity in fashion is something, which needs utmost attention. Full figured, curvy, and big-boned – any woman who describes herself with these terms automatically finds herself categorized into the “plus size” by retailers and manufacturers. Plus, the plus-size market is basically begging people to pay more consideration to it.

Plus Sized Body Suit

When you wear a Plus Size Body Suit from Naturalcurves under a dress, you get a smooth, sexy silhouette and look fresh and fantastic day. Unlike other body suits and shapers, Plus Sized Body Suits don’t awkwardly cling.  Rather, they compliment your natural shape and give you an ideal shape every day, every time.

Consider a Plus Sized Body Suit when you’re wearing jeans, too.  We all love those low ride styles.  They’re so flattering, especially to plus sized women, yet they feel awkward.  A Plus Sized Body Suit compensates for the low rise without hampering its look in any way.  In fact, it enhances how the jean flatters and keeps you feeling comfy all day. And, as an added bonus, it keeps you tucked.  Low rise jeans make us nervous about sitting and bending because they so easily expose our stomachs and behinds.Plus Sized Body Suits take care of that, too.  It stays tucked always, so you can sit and bend confidently.

As far as size is concerned, always choose your correct size.  Don’t think selecting a smaller size Plus Sized Body Suit will make you look thinner.  Doing so will only feel uncomfortable.
