Best Minimalistic Style Ideas for Fall 2017

There are people who love summers and then there are people who love winters, but I simply love the change of seasons because a new season means new fashion trends and styling opportunities.  You can spread your creative wings and play with different fabrics, items, colours or prints and patterns.

But yes, I do enjoy autumn the most because it is not as much of a season as a transitional period that helps you get prepared for winters.

Moreover, it’s the time of the year when you can bring out all your aesthetic abilities to create a beautiful, functional wardrobe by mixing and matching any of the summer or winter clothes in your wardrobe.

Autumn is also a favorite season for girls and women who opt for minimalist fashion because it is comparatively much easier to dress simple in autumn as compared to summers. But being minimalistic never means that your outfits need to be dull or boring, so here are the best minimalist styles for the season!

Maxi skirts

Maxi skirts are one of the autumn staples. Instead of wearing them with your summer t-shirts, you should now combine them with tunics or short dresses and then layer over with a cardigan. You can choose to wear a belt over the shirt or the cardigan as it helps bring the whole outfit together.

Soon after maxi skirts come maxi dresses – another must-have and must-wear of the season. For the classic autumn vibes, wear your maxi dress with brown shoes and accessories. If you feel like the weather is too cold, you can also wear tights or leggings under your maxi, or simply put on a sweater to keep you warm.

Scarves

Scarves are undoubtedly the best accessories for the season. Scarves don’t just keep you warm and comfortable but also help cover tops that have a low neckline or are too tight at the top. For hijabis, colourful scarves are a great way to complement the hijab and keep their necks covered.

There’s nothing more refreshing that a suit that goes with the autumn theme. So get your hands on a from the fall palette. The hottest colours to wear this year would be red and hot pink, but you can also go with the classics like eggplant purple, burgundy, olive green and brown.

Alongside universal checks and florals, glittery looks have been a favorite trend once again this year, whether you talk about hair, makeup or outfits. So do include some shimmer in your autumn wardrobe like a silver sequin maxi skirt, sparkling viscose shawl or a vintage silk jacket in a metallic fabric.

If you’re not too fond of glittery outfits, try starting small like by wearing a beaded organza scarf or statement glittering boots.

Well-fitted

The secret to looking modest but stylish lies in the fitting. Your outfits should fit your body properly and they should complement your body shape for a great, non-bulky look.

Vintage vibes

When it comes to layering items such as blazers, coats or jackets, one of the best trends of the years is that of vintage inspired looks. Classics never come out of fashion and it’s always fascinating to play with the items that will definitely add up stylish touches to your autumn outfits.

70s style

If you’re into plaid, then it’s time to let go of the grunge 90s plaid and instead choose to wear bright and the funky 70s style plaid items. These can include palazzo pants, Bermuda shorts, shirts, coats or even gowns.

Effortlessly chic

Mixing prints and textures is always fun but it shouldn’t look like you’re trying too hard. Make sure that the patterns you choose go well together and that it doesn’t look like you’re trying too hard to fit in.

So ladies, autumn is the best time of the year to make use of everything in your closet and use them to their full extent. But, of course, if you feel like you need to go shopping and make your autumn wardrobe even better, there’s nothing wrong with that. Happy wearing! 🙂
